Holiday Cards and Gift Wrap Workshop - December 1

Create unique gift tags, greeting cards and gift-wrap for the holiday season. Nicole Patrice Dul, printmaker and book artist will show participants how to carve their own stamp blocks and construct their own gift tags, cards and envelopes. In the second half Sylvia Glassman, stamping artist, will introduce participants to several basic stamping techniques to enhance their handcrafted work. This is a creativity workshop for adults and children 8 and up, scheduled for Saturday, December 1, 11am –2:30pm. The fee of $45.00 includes some materials, handouts, and instruction. Holiday Ornament Show - December 2-31

Our annual Holiday Ornament show features handcrafted one-of-a-kind ornaments perfect for decorating your tree or for a gift. Shop the gallery for original holiday cards and gifts in a wide range of mediums. The show opens with a reception on Sunday, December 2nd, from 1-4pm, and runs through December. Art to Wear - November 4-30

Art to Wear features original handcrafted jewelry and wearable art and runs 11/4- 11/30 with a special opening on Sunday, 11/4 from 1-4pm. The show includes original handcrafted jewelry with handmade glass beads, seed beads, found objects collage, handmade sterling chains, hand painted velvet and exotic knitted scarves and fabric collage purses.

The Artful Home – October 7 - 30

The Artful Home is a special group show featuring a wide range of unique handcrafted for the home including pottery and tableware, desktop items, mirrors, frames, vases, window ornaments, pillows and more. Special opening reception and artist meet & greet, Sunday, October 7, 1-4pm. Runs 10/7- 10/30.

Dog Days of Summer: Dog Art & Craft Show

Dog Days of Summer is a special exhibition and sale featuring the work of member and non-member artists with dog themed art and craft. This event opens on Sunday, August 12th, 2007 from 1-4pm with refreshments and a special meet-the-artists reception and continues through Friday, August 31st.

Among the artists’ offerings are paintings, prints, jewelry, stained glass, mosaics, photography and other mediums that celebrate our furry friends. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Spayed Club, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to solving dog and cat over population by offering low cost spaying and neutering in the Greater Philadelphia Area. http://www.thespayedclub.org

Johnny Appleseed Festival

The third annual Johnny Appleseed Festival will be Saturday, September 15, 2007 from 11am to 4pm. The Festival features: children's arts and crafts, story-telling by "Johnny Appleseed," video and activity booklets, cider-making with antique apple press, children's clothesline art show, apple tree planting, apple baked goods; and the opening for the "Autumn in the Orchard Art Show".  Co-sponsors include Glencairn Museum and Bryn Athyn Cathedral.  Free. Paper Arts: Methods and Materials:  CANCELLED

This is a workshop which will explore new ways of working with paper, including hand and machine sewing, wax, fabric, transferred images, transparency and more. Drawing & Designing Celtic Knot Work

Discover the beautiful, intricate art form of interlace. We are offering a creativity workshop in the fundamentals of Celtic knot work design for adults and children 10 years and up. This workshop will be taught by Nicole Patrice Dul, M.F.A., at the Orchard Artworks on Sunday, July 22, 12:30 PM- 4:00PM. The fee of $30.00 includes materials, handouts, and instruction. Inspirational Images: Photographs & Cards

“Inspirational Images: Photographs & Cards,” is a group exhibition that features the work of local artists Sylvia Glassman, Jack Lane, Page Morahan, Rob Andrews, and Gillian Bedford. The show opens on Sunday, June 3, 2007 from 1 to 4 p.m. with refreshments and a meet-the-artists reception; it continues through Saturday, June 23.

Among the artists’ inspired offerings are giclée works, framed nature photography, and greeting cards that use photographic, stamped, or collaged images; some pieces feature inspiring quotes.

Phases: Prints and Photographic Works

“Phases: Prints and Photographic Works,” is a show of works by Nicole Patrice Dul of Philadelphia. The show opens on Saturday, May 5, 2007 from 1 to 4 p.m. with refreshments and a meet-the-artist reception; it continues through Sunday, May 27.

Nicole, an instructor at Moore College of Art and Design, Holy Family University and various community art centers, will present printmaking and alternative photographic works.

Fanciful Figures & Adornments

This show of works by artists Joy Stevens, Marilyn Dyson, Shawn Rose, and Patience Synnestvedt opens on Sunday, April 1, 2007 from 1 to 4 p.m. with refreshments and a meet-the-artists reception; it continues through Sunday, April 29.

Among the items featured in the show will be fanciful scarves, shawls, necklaces, and elfin figures and fairies.
 

Table Ware

Table Ware is a show of works by clay artists Ellen Pine Litwin of East Oak Lane in Philadelphia and Louise Sussman, a Melrose Park resident. The show opens on Sunday, March 4, 2007 from 1 to 4 p.m. with refreshments and a meet-the-artists reception; it continues through Saturday, March 31, 2007.

In Table Ware, Litwin and Sussman will display beautifully-crafted functional ceramic objects; some are suitable for everyday use and others for special occasions.
 

Romantic Treasures

Treat that special someone to one of the “Romantic Treasures” assembled for a gallery-wide show opening at Orchard Artworks, on Sunday, February 4, 2007, at 1:00 p.m.. The show concludes on Sunday, February 25.
