Rethreads - creating new items of clothing, quilts, and other fabric articles from found, reused, "repurposed" fabrics - is the best summation of my craft. What I make is driven by two of my personality traits: I hate to throw away even the smallest pieces of cloth, and I am a dedicated recycling participant.

I started out sewing my own clothes as a preteen, learning my craft from my mother and grandmother. Over the years I acquired both of their fabric stashes as well as donations from other family and friends. With those fabrics, denim shirts, infants' denim pants, and other finds purchased at thrift stores and yard sales, I create the one-of-a-kind items for "Rethreads."

Originally from California, I lived in upstate New York for many years. I moved to the Mt. Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia in 2001 and love the great sense of community I found there.
