I have enjoyed creating art for many years, and have attended evening classes in painting and printmaking at Cheltenham Art Center and Fleisher Art Memorial while working as a medical editor during the day.
Most recently, I have been experimenting with rice paper. I begin by brushing a wash of watercolor and pearlescent inks onto the paper, which results in a “stained” effect. I then draw and collage on that, which gives the piece a translucent quality that reminds me of the interplay of sunlight and water. I paste these on card stock to create small works of art that can be held in the hand and given to friends.
